Fred Sypher for The Beast reports seeing what he believes were US Special Forces troops heading towards a battle near Zumar Iraq. He relates a harried scene unfolding after American airstrikes where he was trying to get forward to report on what’s going on but was held back temporarily by his Peshmerga escort.

They didn’t wear any identifying insignia but they were visibly Western and appeared to match all the visual characteristics of American special operations soldiers.”
One Peshmerga commander replied to Sypher’s questions “Yes, German and American forces are on the ground here.” “They are helping to support us in the attack.”
Relax folks US CENTCOM spokesman Captain Rick Haupt said there are no US troops involved in the fighting. The President has also stated we have sent no combat troops to Iraq…
