Defense Tech reported Sikorsky unveiled the first of two flying prototypes for the Armed Aerial Scout program. I covered the system in depth last year (and the year before) at the Maneuver Conference at Ft. Benning. The S-97 Raider features counter-rotating rotor system and a pusher prop that makes it faster than any conventional helicopter. It can be armed, serve as a medevac or can insert six troops into a landing zone.
