Marine Maj. Robb McDonald was awarded a Silver Star for responding to and organizing a defense of his camp where half a dozen harrier jets were destroyed and two Marines killed by Afghan insurgents.  Two Marine generals were later retired over the incident for a lack of security emphasis.
