With Secretary of State Kerry in Israel trying to negotiate a peace between Israel and Palestinians, two new positions have been reported.  One would offer placing US troops on the border with Jordan to stop potential arms and terror infiltrators.  The other is the US would release Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard as an inducement for Israel to keep releasing Palestinians it has jailed over various terror and terrorism support crimes.  There is no official comment from the State Dep’t.

Putting US troops in Palestinian controlled territory harkens back to our ill-fated deployment of Marines in Lebanon in the 80’s.
