The Sacremento Bee reports the Pentagon’s Battle Damage Assessment from the yet to be named ongoing operation in Iraq.
There have been 154 airstrikes over five weeks averaging a little less than five missions a day destroying 162 different types of ISIS vehicles. The vehicles are characterized as “damaged or destroyed” include 88 “armed vehicles”, 37 HMMWVs, 21 other vehicles, 12 armored personnel carriers, two tanks, a construction vehicle and a mine-resistant vehicle (MRAP).
The Pentagon also claimed seven anti-aircraft artillery systems, seven roadside bombs, five mortar positions, a machine gun position and a weapons cache. Fixed targets included 12 fighting positions, 10 ISIS checkpoints, two observation posts, two buildings, a command post, a bunker and “a large ground unit.”
The timing of the BDA release is an incredible coincidence considering the President’s speech last night.
