Pres Obama promises to commit combat troops if ISIS gets nukes

RT reported that the President speculated it would take ISIS getting nukes to get him to commit combat troops.   At the G20 brief in Brisbane Australia Obama said, “If we discovered that [Islamic State] had gotten possession of a nuclear weapon, and we had to run an operation to get it out of their hands, then, yes, I would order it.”  This is after Obama doubled the number of US “advisors” in Iraq with the addition of 1500 troops this month.

A little over a week ago, Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey, stated the Pentagon was “certainly considering” embedding US troops in a more direct role serving as advisors alongside Iraqi combat soldiers to enhance their effectiveness.  There’s likely little cause for concern considering the President has repeatedly ignored past US military advice to include and most importantly establishing a true strategy for defeating ISIS.  (FWIW, airstrikes and advisors are tactics not strategy).  I explained why we won’t develop a strategy back in August and what we would do.  So far I’ve sadly been all too right.
