Military.com’s Matthew Cox reports the Army is initiating a comprehensive approach to issueing mountaineering gear.  In the past, units bought what they wanted or thought they needed.  Now the Army is planning to issue comprehensive mountaineering kits for platoon sized units at the BDE level.  Kit Up features an article and picture of some of the kit.

Four Army Mountaineering schools are first on the list and then Infantry combat brigades this year with Guard brigades slated for next year.
